In order for our swim meets to run, we depend heavily on our volunteers! We ask each swim team family to sign up for at least two volunteer slots each swim season. There is a volunteer binder available at the front table for you to sign up.
Read through the descriptions below to learn more about the volunteer roles.
Use stopwatches and record swimmers' times for each event. Document the swimmers' times on a clipboard.
Enter the results from the meet into the system. Affix labels to the place ribbons and sort them in the filing system, so swimmers can pick up their ribbons after the meet.
Prepare hot foods (e.g., burgers and hot dogs) or sell concession items to customers.
Help the young swimmers line up in the correct lanes behind the start blocks before their events begin.
Watch swimmers to ensure they are following legal stroke form. Note: You must be trained in order to volunteer for this position. See the Delmarva Swim Association Officiating page for more information.
Sing the National Anthem prior to our home swim meets.
